چکیده

Efficient numerical-asymptotic electromagnetic simulations of electrically large structures are presented based on an iterative hybridization of the method of moments (MoM) and physical optics (PO) in a higher order computational framework. The iterative MoM-PO technique employs multiple reflections between PO currents nested within an overall iterative MoM-PO multiple-reflection process. The results demonstrate an effective MoM-PO modeling of an automobile with a GSM 1900-MHz antenna and a substantial improvement in accuracy of the analysis of a characteristic reflector antenna geometry using the new technique with multiple PO-PO reflections over the standard higher order technique that neglects the mutual coupling between the currents in the asymptotic region of the structure.

Iterative Integral Equation Method for Efficient Computation of Multiple Scattering

An iterative integral equation method (IEM) is proposed for calculation of the electromagnetic (EM) scattering field from geometries with multiple reflections, such as rough surface, dihedral and trihedral. The first reflection is computed by physical optics and the coupling effects are computed by integral equations. The average size of the triangular meshes used in the proposed method is a co...

Higher Order Electromagnetic Modeling for Wireless Technology Applications

This paper presents our development of novel higher order electromagnetic (EM) modeling techniques for wireless technology applications based on the method of moments (MoM), finite element method (FEM), and physical optics (PO). Modern wireless systems involve electrically large EM structures (antennas, circuits, and components) that are very complex in both geometry and material composition. T...

Hybrid method for 3D modeling of electromagnetic fields in complex structures with inhomogeneous background conductivity

We present a new formulation of the hybrid method for threedimensional (3D) electromagnetic (EM) modeling in complex structures with inhomogeneous background conductivity (IBC). This method overcomes the standard limitation of the conventional IE method related to the use of a horizontally layered background only. The new method allows us to compute the effect of IBC structures by using any app...

Efficient Large-Domain MoM Solutions to Electrically Large Practical EM Problems

A numerical method is presented for the analysis and design of a wide variety of electromagnetic (EM) structures consisting of dielectric and conducting parts of arbitrary shapes. The method is based on the integral-equation formulation in frequency domain, and represents a large-domain (high-order expansion) Galerkin-type version of the method of moments (MoM). The method is formulated in two ...
